Irish Magic
Where would the world be without the Irish? In many ways, we shouldn’t even contemplate the answer to that question. The great nation of Ireland has brought us many great things over the years and plays a huge role in society - and that can be said for Europe, North America and, generally, the world. From standard stereotypes to the core roots and ethics associated with Irish culture, there’s a whole lot to enjoy and unpack. Today, we’re going to be taking a look at a slot offering from IGT that attempts to celebrate Ireland with a game that, hopefully, manages to strike the right balance: and that game is Irish Magic. It could be great or it could be catastrophic, and perhaps that’s part of the fun.

Game Details
The colour green features as prominently as you could ever probably imagine in Irish Magic, with IGT going hard in the paint in regards to everything they think they know about the Irish. There’s something to be said for the manner in which those outside of the country view Ireland, but in terms of a seemingly innocent slot game, there’s nothing too horrible about the general design.
We all want to find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow in a slot such as this, which is probably why they decided to go down the Irish route in the first place. They go with an interesting 5×4 reel layout, but given how large and cartoonish some of the symbols are, you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise.
There are 10 paylines to work your way through, but as you can imagine, there’s a whole lot more to the story.
RTP & Payouts
With this slot site game being released in June 2020, it should come as no surprise to learn that punters are still starting to find their feet with it. One of the first figures that players tend to look towards these days is the RTP, and for Irish Magic, they’re pretty steady with a nice RTP of 96.02% which puts them around the ‘slightly above average’ mark. Also, ith a low to medium volatility, you’re looking at a pretty chilled out slot.
Of course, the high rollers will want to know what kind of money they’ll be allowed to put down, but beginners will be equally as eager to learn that information too. You can get off to a pretty modest start by putting down a minimum wager of 0.10, before making your way up to the lofty heights of 200.
If you happen to be feeling like your lucky day is just around the corner, then you could end up winning 2,000x your initial stake – not bad for a few hours, or potentially even few minutes of work.
Symbols
The soundtrack doesn’t play into the stereotypes quite as much as we were fearing it would which can only be viewed as a good thing, and the gameplay itself is actually really smooth. If you want to have some repeat plays then IM could be the slot for you, if only because it’s got such a charming design. The backdrop, set in some kind of magical land, continues down that path quite nicely. Oh, and we absolutely adore the cheeky leprechaun who really does enrich the Enchanted Forest.
We don’t get the standard playing cards, thankfully, and instead, we get six gemstones that all have a really gorgeous looking design. From there we have a brown leprechaun boot and a green leprechaun boot, both of which are very nicely designed, right alongside a pink mushroom house and a blue mushroom house – you can’t make this stuff up.
Bonus Game & Jackpot
You’ve got to prepare yourself for the unknown whenever you dive headfirst into a new slot game, and Irish Magic is no different with three different bonus features to enjoy. Those of you who enjoy the wild symbol will have to keep an eye out for the pot of gold with a rainbow that can replace all other symbols outside of the scatter.
Stacked Wilds – This is in play during the base game as well as the Free Spins Bonus feature, giving punters a whole lot to sink their teeth into. Every reel is loaded up with four or more consecutive wild symbols, ensuring that you’ve got the chance to secure a whole lot of wild reels for some of the biggest payouts you’ve ever seen.
Free Spins Bonus – When you land three lucky hat scatters on the three middle reels, a wheel spin will automatically be triggered, giving you either 10, 15 or 20 free spins in your game.
Jackpot Bonus – During this feature, wild symbols found during the free spins are collected up and, at the end of the free spins, are compared with the thresholds set out for the jackpot. These jackpots will then go up based on Level Up symbols which can be seen through the golden horseshoes which land on the third reel. You could, if you’re lucky, increase the value by 10x.
Even though there isn’t a progressive jackpot, you are guaranteed some kind of big sum whenever you land on the free spins. Rejoice!
Mobile Compatibility
With a slot that’s this detailed, that was released this year, there’s an argument to be made that it was specifically catered more to the mobile than to the desktop – which old school slot players probably won’t enjoy all too much.
What everyone can appreciate, though, is that Irish Magic is compatible with iOS and Android devices.
Verdict
Irish Magic is a beautiful game to look at and appreciate, and the impact of that can’t be overstated – so bravo, IGT.
The overall effectiveness of the slot really does come down to what sort of figures you’re looking for. It’s pretty well rounded aside from providing the sort of high risk factor that high rollers will thrive on, but in the current climate, maybe we could all use something as enjoyable as this to keep us going.
